21 Days to a closer walk with Thee (Day 4 Discussion)

7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life
Jesus is the living water and the way to everlasting life.

23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
I so agree Beatrice. I love how Jesus dealt with people. Once again another example how we should be. He didn't see her sin but he saw her soul. Sometimes we get so caught up in our own feelings and emotions and we have to look past that and look deeper. There are a lot of hurt people in the world. We need to tell them the truth in love and show them the way, just like Jesus did with this woman. Verse 24 is one everyone should have marked in their bibles!!!! I also encourage you to do some researching into history to understand a lot of what happened during that time and throughout the bible. Has anyone ever wondered why Jesus was born in a manger? There is an answer for that as well and it is fascinating when you do the research behind it. I will share some of that with you as time goes on.
32But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
Do you see what Jesus said in verse 35? He talks about working. Not just labor like we do everyday but doing the work of God. We should be just like that. There is a work in the kingdom for all of us to do. Some of us are doing it already and others are unsure. So tonight as you pray and write in your journals, think about the work that you would like to do. Write it down and then later pray and see what God has to say to you. He may confirm it or He may lead you another way. Either way we all have a job to do. Above all else, we are to be the light of the world, and the salt of the earth. We need to guide people to Jesus and let them know that if they work for him, in the end, they will reap a reward greater than they could ever imagine. Isn't it good that God loves enough to bless us for our work? He doesn't have to because He has already done enough but since He said He would, all we have to do is believe it and receive it.
49The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
These verses connects God's word, to our faith. Jesus spoke it that the boy was alive and the father believed it and it came to pass. A lot of folks miss out because we don't exercise our faith in God. We literally block our own blessings because we don't believe and we don't have faith. Stop putting God in a box. No matter what the situation is, know there is nothing too hard for God and with Him all things are possible. I know some of what I am saying sounds like I am repeating myself but I want to get it down into your spirit. I want you to wake up everyday with the peace that passes all understanding because your faith is strong in the Lord. Gal 3:11 "The righteous will live by faith." This also connects with what I was saying about work because the bible also says, "faith without works is dead." You work your faith by exercising it and you exercising it by putting it out before the Lord. This father had enough faith to not only go to Jesus and ask but to also believe His word. He was nowhere near his son to truly know if he was alive but yet, he believed God. He truly was walking back home with faith and not by sight. He exercised it by simply believing and going home knowing his son would live. He didn't beg Jesus to come home with him, he simply trusted and left. Hebrews 11: 5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Trusting in God pleases Him. Enoch walked with God and trusted God. So much so that he didn't see death!!! Remember when I posted about being the like the moon and seeking God? His word right here says He rewards those that diligently seek Him. We must always seek to be like God, to trust Him, to obey Him, to listen to Him, to worship Him and adore Him. Whatever it is that you need, ask the Lord, hear His voice, exercise your faith and believe God. Be blessed ladies. Q

Sorry I am so late with my discussion. I am focusing on Verse 4 and the end of verse 9.

Verse 4: Now he had to go through Samaria

Verse 9: ......(For Jews do not associate with Samaritans).

The first part of this chapter discusses the path Jesus must take to get from Judea to Galilee. It was noted he had to go through Samaria. A place full of people he would not regularly associate with. However, as Queeny stated before, he didn't at the woman, but the woman's soul.

Now look at our lives. Have we ever wondered before "Lord why am I here?" Look at your place of employment. We are surrounded by folks that we wouldn't hang out with come 5:01pm. However, is that any reason why we should not let our light shine and not share the Good News when the Lord puts someone in our path? The Lord allowed this Samaritan women to be at the well at the same time Jesus was so that she would learn of Him and spread the word.

Keep in mind when we are in our Samaria....Look around and see who God may have put in your path.
