21 Days to a closer walk with Thee (Day 12)

Good Friday everyone. I am knee deep in Easter preparations but here are our scriptures for today:

3Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,
5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
Jesus knew His body would not be prepared for burial in the traditional way. So Mary was doing it for Him before He passes. He also gives us a good word about money. Now money is a good thing of course and God wants us to be prosperous. But we shouldn't put it over the important things in life like people, and esp serving the Lord.

12On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
14And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
16These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
The same people that cried out praising Him, would be some of the same ones calling for His death.

20And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
22Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Jesus was not just speaking about Himself, but us as well. We have to die to our flesh and then God is able to do more with us. The bible says, "greater is He that is in thee than He that is in the world." Where this world and the things of it like a loose fitting garment. When God calls, be ready to give it all up and follow Him.

31Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33This he said, signifying what death he should die.
Another verse to have highlighted!!! Jesus was lifted up on the cross and died. Because of it, He was able to save the world.

43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
So many of us are like verse 43. We get so used to this world that we focus more on what man says and not what God says. Don't lose your focus. Jesus' light is within us. So don't let it go dim by straying from the source. Let your light shine and help those who are in darkness know they can have everlasting life in Christ. In your journals tonight, write down ways you can let your light shine and get moving. Be blessed. Q

Verse 27. "Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour.
Verse 28. Father glorify your name.

How many of us have celebrated while in our trials? How many of us have shouted to the roof tops regarding our tribulations? How many of us have found pleasure in our pain? I would bet to say none. Jesus had a call on his life. A plan that he was a part of. A prophesy that was to be fulfilled. He was made flesh and sent down from his glorious position at the right hand of the Father, to be used, abused, tortured and killed for complete strangers. People he didn't know and would never get to meet in his lifetime on earth. Those people are you and me. We become so comfortable in our lives and the material creature comforts that we've obtained, that we are sometimes unwilling to sacrifice those things when called on by God to execute his plan for our lives. Being unemployed has really changed my perspective on what my real purpose in life is. Why is the Lord taking me through this trial? Am I suffering for my good or so my faith may be a testimony for someone else to witness. Am I okay with God using me, taking me to hell and back so that someone else can learn and avoid the pain that I endured? Do I think that's fair? Do I even have the right to ask such a question, knowing what Jesus endured for me? A wretch like me? Do I really have the right to complain about being a little uncomfortable?
